Funding Opportunities and Open Calls for Industry: Exploring Options for Growth and Innovation

In today's competitive marketplace, funding is often the lifeblood of the industry. Whether we talk about entrepreneurs seeking to launch a new product, startups looking to expand, or established companies seeking to innovate, securing funding is crucial to your success. Fortunately, various funding opportunities and open calls are available for industry players, regardless of their stage of development or sector of focus.

  1. TRUSTCHAIN Open Call 1 (OC1)

The first open call we discuss in this article is TRUSTCHAIN Open Call 1 (OC1) on "Decentralised Digital Identity". This Open Call 1 welcomes applications that clearly define, upgrade/extend the state-of-the-art, and develop several solutions.

Applicants are invited to submit proposals on any topic that serves the overall TRUSTCHAIN OC1 vision and objectives. Their proposed solution should consider the minimal requirement to:

  • Use standard technology for full-stack development;
  • Be open source;
  • Extends the state-of-the-art in the domain of digital identities and/or solves existing real-world problems with digital identities and provides new, highly usable software solutions.

The call is open for submission from the 8th of February 2023 (12:00 PM CET) until the 10th of April 2023 (17:00 CEST). Its indicative budget is € 1 755 000 with up to a maximum of 15 proposals funded.

The Challengers selected to take part in the programme will get support from the InnoBuyer consortium to further define their unmet needs and translate them into a challenge (Action 1) that can be launched in a call for innovation suppliers/Solvers.

Who can apply? Public or private organisations from any sector, with a need that could be solved by implementing an innovative solution.

Open call timeline: From the 1st of February 2023 to the 31st of March 2023 at 17:00 Central European Time (CET).

Number of applicants to be selected: 15 Challengers expected to be funded: Minimum 10 public Challengers Up to 5 private Challengers
